Issue no. 2 — What is Bungu LA? Who is our mascot?
Bungu Los Angeles is a festival that celebrates the beauty of stationery and illustration through a curated marketplace of global and indie brands. This event is brought to you by Paper Plant Co, a stationery shop in Los Angeles Chinatown. Since 2020, we’ve aspired to create an idyllic analog world that supports community, artists, and global makers, all with the hope of sharing simple happiness whether it’s through a thoughtful card, a charming sticker, or a beautifully bound notebook.
Debuting in 2025, Bungu LA will bring together makers who create paper goods, masking tape, stamps, stickers, inks, and writing tools. Every exhibitor is thoughtfully chosen by Paper Plant Co. for their originality, craftsmanship, and the joy their work brings. From established manufacturers to independent artists, our goal is to create a space where you can meet your favorite makers and discover stationery that makes you smile. (We’ve also asked our exhibitors to bring some special exclusives or new items!)
When we started to think about Bungu LA, we knew our little mascot from Paper Plant Co, Vincent, needed a friend. Introducing our mascot for Bungu LA, Bun! Bun-kun is a playful dwarf bunny who is stout and round. Despite his size, we can assure he’s very healthy and loves his leafy greens. You’ll find him in special places around Bungu LA!
Sincerely,
BUNGU LA Team
