Ash Made Me

Ash, the creator of Ash Made Me, has always drawn and loved stars from a young age. After getting her degree in Industrial Design, she wanted to help smaller, non-corporate businesses create products that aligned with their brand and mission. But she quickly became disillusioned with what she witnessed firsthand: unethical business practices, lack of recognition for quality design, and quick profit grabs. Wanting a more ethical way of creating, she opened her shop in 2024 with the mission of bringing joy to those who still appreciate quality, curated, handmade, and heartfelt items.

At Ash Made Me, everything is created from the hands of Ash. She draws inspiration from her heritage, as well as her love for birds! She illustrates many fluffy round Shima Enaga birds, which are colloquially called “Snow Fairy Birds” that are native to Hokkaido, Japan. This bird has a bit of a fan club in the stationery world, and Ash has adopted it as her mascot, naming him “Cheep Cheep” after the tweeting sounds the birds make. Ash has traveled to Japan and photographed these birds in the wild herself, so her ongoing connection to nature and natural materials shows up throughout her work.
